Welcome to the official web site of Hereford City Council This is the heritage site of the parish council that represents the seven wards of the City of Hereford. Here you will find the ‘history’ of how Hereford City Council has progressed (?) from a Corporation to a District Council and, finally, to its present state of a parish council. There are also ‘historical’ items on the Insignia, Plate and Mayoralty of this Royal & Ancient City. Under the heading ‘Parish Council’ you will find a list of the current councillors and details of the few functions for which the Council is now responsible . A new web site is being developed - www.Herefordcity.net - which will give current information, including Agendas and Minutes of the City Council’s meetings; It will provide details of the current activities of the Mayoralty and the Council; It will also provide a platform for local Community Groups and Associations who will be able to take out ‘sub-sites’ through this portal. *************************************************************** There are ‘links’ to other web sites dealing with the City of Hereford and a link to the Herefordshire Council who have taken on the majority of functions carried out by the former City Council.

The City Council enables ‘Hereford in Bloom’ to take place from 2006 - by underwriting the cost up to £45,000. Amey Wye Valley are engaged to plant and maintain the various beds and baskets. |
